That's good then, I don't want to get thrashed for trying to sneak my green lid onto parade then
Been reading about the forums, getting a few different answers although some post may be older than others;
Is 1 para available straight after p coy? Or would I need a draft in 2 or 3 para first?
Cheers

Yes you can be posted to 1 Para straight from basic training now.
Just as an extra piece of information, unlike the Commando tests, P Coy isn't the final part of training it takes place around week 20/22 and afterwards you still have about 5 weeks solid of exercises to complete before you Pass out.
Good luck if you go for it, apart from a bit of banter from the Pltn Staff* I can't see you having any major dramas to be honest, especially since (I assume) you've actually served your time in the Marines and haven't simply bailed out of basic at Lympstone and decided to have a crack at the Paras instead.
(*and you certainly wont get any crap from the Joes as there's no way the staff would allow a bunch of Joes to slag off an ex-Marine)

Spot on comments there from Alfa.
I have known a handful of ex Marines during my time in the Reg, and they have all been good eggs. Two of them were in the PF with me, and are now SF.

Good on you mate,
Just being nosey but what made you want to change from a Marine to a Para, There both the same. You must like the idea of jumping out of a plane?
