Don't use it on this website Ok?

It's lazy, annoys me and for sure will not be tolerated when in the Corps of Royal Marines both during or after training. Use the Queens English please people.

Anymore of it and I will delete any lazy use of our language ASAP!

Artist I must be getting on a bit, I completely agree with you. I have a mobile phone that you actually make a phone call from and not a lot else.

Could someone translate posts 2 & 3 please!

I'm not sure it's really much to do with age. I think it's more to do with the technology of comms. I know grown adults who use this puerile lingo because they believe they need to/should do.

Can we also have a ban on bad punctuation and grammar please!

I've been doing my best davidemmerson, but I just get grief from people who think there's nothing wrong with it.
:(
I know it's not just me thinking that if a question is important enough to someone for them to want to post it on the forums, then it should be important enough to them that they read over it before hitting the submit button.
'Oh that'll do' is not the attitude we want to see from people who aspire to join HM Armed Forces, innit!

I think we have all been doing our best to eradicate the scourge of text speak here.
I did mention the problem to Beast.
If we all do what we can at least we can keep it to a minimum.
It's much worse on MF&T than here.
Something to do with age and self respect I think.

Agree with Nutty. If you cannot write and spell properly then do not bother to write it.
As far as I am concerned it is just plain lazy.
Remember somebody else has to try and read it.

got1. I have got one of those. I thought I had the only one.

Mobile phones with text availability has to be the worst thing to happen to the English language.
The US use of texting is limited if not non-existent as calls are cheap(Even though we speak funny) :o

I have yelled myself hoarse about the use of text speak here.
It will no longer be a warning from me but a press of the"Delete"Button.
