Well decided to pursue my dreams of joining the Royal Air Force last week after looking at Marines as well, however i have not applied as Pilot which was always my intentions, guess i just don't have the confidence to go ahead with it.
Ended signing up for RAF Regiment which does interest me as i like the thought of being a soldier as with the marines but also being part of the Air Force. Got my Aptitude on January 8th and should be in end of Feb.
Will keep you all informed though!

I quite understand his choice, he'll get all the gucci green kit and never be more than a mile from a proper flushing toilet. It's the way to go!

I get all the s@*t from my mates and people I know in the forces about joining the RAF Regiment mate. At the end of the day it's down to personal choice, and I'm like you, I just wanted to be in the RAF but do all the "Green" stuff, so the RAF Regiment was the perfect choice. Had a whole list of jobs I could have done in the RAF, but I knew what I wanted!
People don't really know much about the RAF Regiment so that's where all the piss taking comes from. But most of it is just banter and it's the way it is in the military!
My personal opinion is that it is down to the man, not what he belongs to!
