A few A-Zs and you cant go wrong. Ive heard of duplicate roads, and what if the satalites crash when your in a unfamiliar place?

I have a a Satnav for a couple of years now and i have found them very good. To be quite honest I never look at the display but listen to the voice telling me just where i should be turning. Also it will warn you a mile or so in advance on a motorway just what lane you should be in. Now on the M25 this can be a blessing as you have plenty of time to make the manoeuvre in heavy traffic. They have taken me hundreds of miles and guided me straight to the persons door with out any form of error. What i do like about them is when you approach a roundabout it tells just what exit to leave by just before you enter the system, so beats cranning your neck trying to spot the sign that tells that you have just missed your exit as you are in the wrong lane.

I like the route card myself. The granddaughter was on about a tomtom for xmas. I am now touring the charity shops for an old drum. :)

I've bought my wife a Tom Tom Go 510 for Christmas in the hopes that our road map reading battles will be a thing of the past!

Probably not what she is expecting, but it could just save our marriage.

Bah, a Tom Tom takes the fun out of pulling up and getting the map out and using those map skills! ;)

Ever tried pulling up on a vary busy trunk road or a busy city centre to read a map for a few minutes, you rapidly become parent less.

Some classic lines from the satnav chick....

"Take a left turn shortly" :o

"Make a legal u-turn" :P
