There is a re-union planned for this year on 28 Jun at a cost of £27/head. I shall check with Graham Dear if its ok to put the venue details on the site, in the meantime if you want to pm me, I shall gladly pass them on.

I expect any marine who wore the yellow lanyard or garter tabs can go,I think medication will be supplied for those that need it ,if not you,ll just have to make do with pussers rum,it helps me!

More details as promised about the 41 re-union. I have been in touch with Graham who has been trying to get the information about the re-union on this site through Tony L, but so far no joy. Numbers attending are limited to 130, so if you don't want to be talked about in your absence you'd better drop Graham an email for an application form soonest.

Bloody Sprog! Typical Bandy, if it ain't in Blue and Red and doesn't need umpteen hours of polishing they don't know it! Garter elastics were worn to keep up our 'socks, long, woollen' worn with boots, puttees, shorts, shirt GD and green hat. They had a yellow flash which peeked out gaily from beneath the furled down top of the socks, giving us a jaunty casual air!

Clear as mus El Prez! So it went over the puttee? Were they exclusive to 41 or did each unit have their own?

Sticks I was issued these but never got the chance
to have them peeking out gaily?.Good job I think.
Similar to the ones used by the old style boyscouts. My jaunty air was running down to the Punch Bowl in Paceville to join the rest of the unit
Boxing team....sic, great days.

Last time I was in Paceville I was heartbroken to discover the Roundabout in mid rebuild. Bastards.

Dont' know how long ago that was but about 5 years ago the whole place was like your worst nightmare from Blackpool and Benidorm rolled into one. B Awful discos everywhere. There was one just up from Wilga St. that had a giant skull as an entrance door!?

.
I threw up and hightailed it back to Sliema where it's slightly better. Looking out from Mdina, the whole island seems to be disappearing under concrete and housing. Bit like watching a cancerous growth under a microscope.
