He`s going to learn how to repair/install the electical/electronics systems in helos, in a nutshell mate.
Sounds like a pearl of a job and civilian street will bite his arm off when he eventually goes outside. 8)

Good luck there Fawcett, many have passed before you, keep smiling mate and do one day at a time.
One of our Members does similar work for the Andrew(RN) name of Clarkey MC, he`s a nice bloke and may have a few tips
And welcome aboard

Is that what it's like these days. You do your basic at Pirbright, then on to your trade training at another depot. :-?
The REME place at Bordon used to do the whole lot didn't they. Recruit training, courses etc.
Good luck to you mate, it's all worth it in the end.

Another question, i' ve heard you can still go for para wings outside of the regiment, does this apply for any regiment i join because i would really like to get them as my dad and uncle were in 3 para and i wanted to join from an early age as i spent most of my life in aldershot and a while in belfast.

Yes, you can. Recruit training first though, then specialization, then later, if you wish, apply for all-arms Para training for service with the Air Assault Brigade.
They have engineers, artillery, signals, etc all under the command.

by going grey!
Fawcett, my grandad was in the REME during the war attached to the LRDG and he was brilliant when it came to fixing radios/tellys, he made me and my brother our first walkie talkies.
He was a lovely man.
Good luck.

Bordon, Bordon. Fantastic place!!!! the pizzas from the deliverey place are the biggest ive ever seen. And as for the rugby club well ive never been there before in my life - honest guv!!!

No in all honesty welcome to the forums and take the banter with a pinch of salt, but dont jump the gun and take each day/ course as it comes. Nobody likes someone who cant make up ther mind. think seriously what you want to do then do a game plan and stick to it and achieve what you want. Game on!!!
