I am sad to announce that Dave (Jock) Blyth, former Bootneck and once colleague on board HMS Tartar Passed over the Bar last week.
For some time he has suffered from the Big C and liver complications
.
Dave's cremation will take place in Dunfermline tomorrow and his ashes will be scattered near to the Commando Memorial at Spean bridge, a wreath will also be placed.
At the same time a wreath will be placed in memory of one Joe ( Piggy) Edwards, who was also a member of the same RM detachment and brother in law to Dave, Joe passed away some years back.
Both respective wives will be present. Capt James Barr RM Rtd, Ex OCRM of Tartar will be representing the Detachment and the Corps. Any request or comments can be passed through me on the forum.
Dave was a typical Bootneck, little thought for himself and a heart of gold. I am glad that I had the opportunity or reliving a few dits with him before his untimely passing
Aye
