Deployment to afghanistan?

Ive heard a lot of whispers and a few refernces to it in the globe n laurel. Apparently the brigade is going out after the paras, is this definite or just a rumour?

I believe 42 and 45 are going out in October!
I think 40 are going to Sierra Leone for some Jungle training.
I am sure someone on here can confirm this?

Be carefull what you wish for young Royal, do not under estimate these people they are very switched on and they know their business, and have a lot of experience behind them.

I'm off to the Helmand next March, i can't even be bothered to get excited about it. I was looking forward to Iraq, untill i got here and realised its S**T, Afgan well prob be the same experience. My brother has been told when he passes out of RM training he will be going to Afganistan, chances are we won't be seeing so much of each other in the next 18 months then.

912 TROOP and the last troop passing out of CTC to be heading to AFGANISTAN, so if he is in 912, 911, 910 etc he will be going! Most lads passing out till 912 are getting drafted to 42.

Sorry I may be wrong
but not all nods get drafted to the same unit so i think this may blow your theory out of the water!!!

Yes, but i am down for P Coy in November, so if i pass that i more than likely won't go. Unless they hold back on sending me to the Guards Para platoon untill after it, which is a senario , as they need every man jack for Afganistan.
