I'm currently putting a presentation together for school. I've chose to do the RAF.
At the moment i'm doing the RAF Regiment section but I just have a few loose ends I was hoping someone could help me with.
On the web-site it explains the selection process which is -
Aptitude Test
Medical
Selection Interview
Then a PGAC at RAF Honnington, which is for 3 days.
What happens next, how long is the initial training, how many and what sections is it broke upto and what Air Force base is the training held at. If anyone has a link to this information that would be great.

Thanks for your reply, I found some very good information, only thing I confused about is how long the training is. On some threads it says 13 weeks and on other 9 weeks.

Which time was that then?
I've got some interesting video footage from my squadron's 90th anniversary celebrations which some disreputable tabloid would probably wet themselves over!

Halifax' mate... the confusion over course length is probably due to the phased course. Joining as a gunner used to mean going to RAF Basic training first (RAF Halton) then on to trade training. I seem to remember it changing a few years ago (as alot of lads left at the 'basic' stage thinking "this is b*llocks !") and I'm pretty sure that now the basic phase makes up the first few weeks at Honington (I think the course is closer to 17 or 18 weeks now) At the end of the first phase there's a parade... then it's into the Regt specific training.
It may seem like a long course, but there's a lot crammed in, and your training continues once you get to a sqn (especially if you're posted to a rapier sqn... although rumour has it that Rapier is going back to the Army... "change !")
the Regt section of RAf careers has more info

Good luck with the project !
