Just a quick query on my upper body exercises, any advise on them ? at the min im doin every day exceot suns : 30 marine style pressups, then 30 sit ups then 30 pull ups old for 2 secs, then 30 secs rest then repeat but 20 at a time, then 30 secs rest and 10 of each. this ok? am i gaining ? or am i stayin at level 1 ?
that ammount of pullups isnt really needed mate, Instead of doing 30,20,10 do...

30 pressups 30 situps 6 pullups 1 min rest
30 pressups 30 situps 6 pullups 1 min rest
30 pressups 30 situps 6 pullups

Then the week after, Add 5 pressups and situps, and add 2 pullups. Do this for about 3/4 weeks then eventually you'll be able to do like 60 pressups no problem at all.

Try doing press-ups every 2 seconds every now and then to see what its going to be like doing them on selection. Makes them alot harder than just banging out 60 press-ups.

Just do them all at 20 for now and then gradually put the reps up. If you cant manage to do them then dont do that many. better to do a total of 60 good reps than struggling to do them on 2nd set.

Yeah do 20's for now mate.

It generally should work like this...

The first set ends before your struggling
The second set gets quite tough towards the end
The third set has to be hard from the beginning or early on.

If your getting to the third set and not getting tired enough then obviously increase the reps in the first two sets, But its important to keep the sets the same number of reps, ie 3 sets of 30 and not 30,20,10.

Ideally you want to reach a point in the third set, about 5 from the end where you think u cant do anymore... Trust me you can usually do about 6 more from that 'I cant do anymore' point. I hate pressups tho, Id sooner do a hard 30 minute run than a hard 2 minute pressup session, I might be weird or something but i just hate pressups with a passion.

Try to do 2500 meters on a rower in or under 10 mins on level 10 (highest). If you can then its a good sign of your cardio, last night i did 2420 in 10 mins, i thought i was going to die.

500 meters in 2 mins is a good pace, when i do that 10 min test i go at 1:50 pace so i can have the odd breather.

Last night i went for a run on the treadmil straight after the rower and it felt like i had a kid clinging onto each leg when i was running, not that i know how it feels to run with kids on your legs.

I dont do rowing much, But when i sometimes do i usually do 2300mts in 10 min, I dont go balls out (except in last minute) but i do a very quick pace throughout. Its tough rowing, but there's tougher things out there.

im sorry but 2500 in 10minutes on a rower is not a good sign to say you have a good level of CV fitness. That is only 2mins/500meters and that really is nothing special! Pretty poor actually.

Getting 1:45/500m for around 4000 meters would be something better to aim for.
