I would have thought your body clock would mean you would find it difficult to lay in? I used to have to get up early for a job I had (about 5:30-6am) and I found that after a few weeks of this I couldn't sleep in at the weekend, the latest I could sleep until was about 7:30.
Then again I suppose you are so worn out from the week that lying in is a good idea.
Off topic, those of you that are in RT, what are the guidlines about bringing your own equipment? Only reason I ask is that The Mrs is thinking of buying me a leatherman for my birthday but if it's not allowed then there's no point.
Anyone know if taking this will be a problem??

Ali,
no, its not just doubtful and everyone has their preferences or whatever, you wont.
Pusser issues the kit that you are insured under, if you have an accident using your own gucci kit your f**ked and so is the TT.
Plus its just necky. You wont see a nod trotting round in Lowas with his gucci Leatherman and a webbing belt!

lol its just not the done thing
Some TT's allow you to use better pieces of kit later on in the field etc. but not on camp

One of the best bits of kit you can have. Leave it at home until you get a feel for things, but as soon as you feel you can get away with taking it in the field in your pocket, do. Obviously you can't wear it on your belt like a lot of ranks do, but you'd have to have a pretty anal training team to stop you using it after the first few weeks.

You can tell if people have MR jack in them if they wrap on cleaning. That was the case for the first 5 weeks in my room. I was doing the majority of the cleaning for my room. Then moved rooms as it was starting to run into my own personal admin.

On the subject of 'Nippers' if you mean youngsters or our shorter brethren
let me offer you some advice. Youth and size are unimportant. It is the
man and his heart. If the will to succeed is there the recruit will win through.
"So go for it !"
Now I was lucky. I was 17 when I joined the RMFVR.(RMR) Two years later I
was in 931 squad and eight months later I was a Ty. 2Lt. In my squad
I was the smallest recruit a tad over 5'6". Later I gained a fraction and
was the same height as Titch Houghton, DSO, MC., who won his gallantry
award in WW2 at Dieppe. He retired as a Maj. General and was CO of 40 Cdo.
in Palestine.
I was one of quite a few vertically challenged men and it made no difference
whatsoever since we were all Royal Marines. For me the hardest test
was the 30 miler and we had no stops and no pain killers in those days.
It was just head down and hack it. The other tests were no problem whatsoever.
As for the Parachute Regiment they are superb. I had the honour to
be offered a Para commission but just scraped back to my beloved
Corps. Don't knock the Paras since as you mature you will appreciate
their many fine qualities.
CTCRM was ITCRM in my day. It was a hutted camp with X Troop being
the Cdo. School under Maj. 'Bull' Baven. Many of the instructors were former
WW2 commandos. There was also a National Service officer in the
training team. His name was Richard Sharp, he played for the RN at
rugby and was Captain of England at Fly Half. He was also an Oxford 'Blue'.
Best wishes to you all- remember size does not matter - it is the man
and never let your oppos down.

Not that many people get up before 9, but for the first 3 weeks our DL would come in for an inspection at 6.30am- lol. He would always say he had left his girlfriend in bed to come and see us 'c####'. I actually found sleeping in makes me even more tired, if I sleep too much.

Not sure, I don't think Nicksok has removed his profile? Or there might have been a server clean up.
We only pull posts if too much text speak, swearing or junk appears

Generally the forum manages itself.

Well he edited them himself, could be anything. Perhaps he thought he gave too much away?
