You should have areas in the forum where people from the same areas can meet up and organise training sessions for RM, Paras, etc.

Jackal, a simple intro (Hi I'm Long Legged from Leicester, I train once a month etc) in the 'Joining' forum for each service with location etc and then switch over to PMs is better than a dating agency viewable by the world.

Hello everyone,
I wonder if it is possible to have a spell check facility in this forum (other forums do) and and a save facility on what one has written. You see, sometimes spend like 45 minutes writing something and I press some button (by accident), and the whole flipping paragraph is gone and I have to start writing all over again.
Thank you

Quite a good idea actually.
Quite a few people get the odd spelling wrong, especially with the military terminology

. So yeah, it should be useful.
At least it will stop all the, "Ow r u?" kinda speak.

Spell checker..... This is becoming a forum Golden Oldy, and has come up many times before.... ... Before I tell you to use the excellent Search facility, I have this very good suggestion......We aint got a spell checker at the moment, so until we do, do the following.
1... Run up MS Word or some similar doc program....
2... Write your post...
3... Cut your post....
4... Activate your Word prog... (Alt+Ctrl)
5... Paste your post into said page....
6... Activate spell checker (if not on automatic)
7... Check spellings and alter where appropriate
8... Copy and Paste back into original Post.
9... Add smilies and whatever
10.. Preview and check all is correct
11. Submit
Its as simple as that........ now check the search facility!

I've received some adverse comments about web-sites being posted on the forums, how intrusive and repetetive they are, it seems a major preoccupation with some members
I've also posted that links that cause computer problems will not be tolerated.
Harry created a slot on RM Misc Disc a while back specifically for web-sites. Perhaps a dedicated forum is needed where games/funnies/weird web-sites can be advertised by members.

What about this... if new members don't post within 3 days they get their account deleted. Anyone who hasn't posted and has been a member for a few months also gets deleted. The least they can do is say hello in the introductions thread and then they can lurk to their heart's content.
Also ban Hotmail, Yahoo etc; only fixed ISP's... that'll stop the Walters.
Oh and free drinks for all members, sanitation, roads, law and order... (sorry, a quick Python flashback)

Perhaps you should only give one warning and then if anyone decides to re-offend boot 'em off.
Just a suggestion.

How about a section where people can enter the date they go for a PRMC, POC, start Basic or anything else and it can be viewed as a calendar, making it easier for people to find out who is going down at the same time?
