No not you. But I'm not mentioning names because I don't want a big slagging match. There just seems to be a lot of people going on about "their" regiment or corps, slagging other regiments, when they haven't even started training, or even the selection process... :-?

well basic is done over the course of 2.5 hours on a Wed. night & weekends I believe and that last for around 14 weeks the CO said. Then 2 weeks at an army training regiment for Phase 2. Then back in unit they carry on. But after phase 2 is complete you're essentially a trained soldier if I'm not mistaken.

It's no good asking me anything about the TA. But in the regular Army, you're a trained soldier after phase 1. Phase 2 is just your trade training. eg infantry...phase1 makes you a soldier. Phase 2 makes you a combat infantryman. I don't know if TA do things differently. Anyway, best of luck.

You're right, what I meant was that in TA you can't go on Ops until after phase 2 complete, but after phase 1 you can do basic duties if they were recquired. It's all a bit of a blur about that actually!
