Birkenhead seems to loom large in these discussions, can`t think why 
Me mam used to call B`head "the one-eyed city" and when I asked her why, she used to say that it was because there`s only one eye in Birkenhead. At which, me Dad would go into a coughing fit, for no good reason.
Liverpool was a much better bet, with over one hundred music/dance clubs in the town centre. Occasional forays, to the Twisted Wheel in Manchester, to watch the birth of Northern Soul 
Missed out a couple of un-sung heros. The English voice of 60`s R+B, Chris Farlowe, great bloke, last heard of running a militaria shoppe in that London. And one-time, USAAF Sgt who stayed on in England to form one of the best live acts I`ve ever seen, the Ram-Jam Band, who`s brass section should`ve carried a Govt health warning .Featuring none other than, put yer hands together for a big Militaryforums welcome for the one, the only, the fantastic Mister Gino Washington I defy anyone to listen to this man and keep yer feet still.
I wonder if me Tonic Mohair suit will still fit me? Hmmm
