Nice one Tom, wonder why I couldn't sort everything out that quickly?? Where did you have you're medical?? The Chatham AFCO use a civvy doc up the road who will only do them on Tuesday morning's, so I had to wait a week, booking the PJFT is up to me, just ring the gym to sort it, so hopefully that will all be sorted by the end of next week. Just don't want to go to PRMC before I'm sure I can pass...lot of work on press ups and pull ups and I should be good, I just don't know how quickly my strength will build up.

I passed my RT test, and had a good interview, (according to the CPO at least) but have to wait a year or so to be able to continue, as I have not lived in the UK for 5 years immediately prior to applying. Fortunately though, I have been shortlisted, so as soon as I have passed the allotted amount of time I can re-take my medical, and go on PRMC. In the meantime, it's fitness for me...

Tom,

I'm guessing you had your RT test at Sheffield. The pass rate you had was better than the day i did mine. there were 15 of us and only three passed. 2 marine hopefuls and 1 navy one of the people there had took it before and failed, and they failed again!!!!

Who did you have for your interview?

I did my PJFT at Spirit health and fitness at sheffield.

I think i'm aiming for around the same date as you fevernova, so may see you down there!!

I just need to work on those pesky press-ups.
I've just designed a six week schedule so should be ok for a PRMC early March.

Not a bad time still though...last time I was in the gym I did 9:28 (15.3km/h), but could've gone faster, try 16km/h next time; I don't know how fast the treadmills at the gym I've got to do the test in go above that yet though.

The ones at the gym I train in are brand spanking and go up to 20km/h, which is useful when training - can do a set of whatever, jump on the treadmill for a fast 400m, do another set, etc. I only do it when it's empty though, you look like a bit of a dickhead jumping on and off the thing every two minutes!! I'm hoping to get it down to around the 9 minute mark by the time I do it (probably some time next week).

Sounds interesting, I've done a couple of sessions of interval stuff on the road; to be honest my running has never been much of a problem over distance: I feel more comfortable running 3 miles in 20-odd mins x-country than the 1.5 in under 10mins on a treadmill. I just really need some proper sprint training before PRMC to help with bottom field. Amazed at how much difference just two weeks constantly at the gym and swimming has made, far greater rate of improvement than my previous program (although also more intensive), my appetite's got way bigger and I'm putting on weight (good cos I'm only a 65kg short-arse). So long as there's no medical problems I'm feeling more confident by the day that I'll get through PRMC first time round.

Did the RT, did the interview, medical, did PRMC and got to week 22 and quit in feb 03. Worst decision I ever made, so i'm getting fit again and gonna join back up. Oh the joys of looking forward to wearing the "Rejoiner" tag. :o

What happened in week 22, If I got that far it would take a lot to get me out...

It really was just a spur of the moment decision, somehow I convinced myself it wasn't for me and just quit. Well, once I was in leavers block i was doubting my deciison seriously, but was too proud to go back and tell the company CO that I made a mistake lol. Really was the worst decision I ever made, was doing damn good in training too.

Funnily enough quitiing was probably the hardest thing i'd done in training up to that point though. You have to go talk to your troop sargeant, troop c/o, company sergeant major and then your company CO, but worst of all was telling my section corporal. ....OMFG!! : :agrue:
