Whoever is organising this event would do well to spend a few minutes reading the thread 'Anglesey Weekend' on Royal Marines, Miscellaneous Discussion, page 2. Especially the last few posts.
The lessons learned by Mike are invaluable.

Take it thats a no then Derek?
I think most of us who did the Yomp enjoyed ourselves not only on the Yomp, but in the Bar on the two evenings, and in some cases, put a face to the text. Nina and Oakers are organising this bash, not only so we can get ratarsed in the presence of good company, but for the members of the forum who didn`t make it to the Yomp, and the newer members, once again, it is a chance to have a beer with some like minded people, and put faces to text. "It is not compulsary to attend"
BUT I`LL BE THERE

You can count me in for it. As I said before I will be at Copper college just outside Coventry until next Feb, so Brum is nice and convenient. Best dates for me are 19 or 20th Dec.
Sorry Ive not been on line much lately, life has got pretty hectic! I feel a bit like all the bootie recruits weve seen off from here in the last few months; a vague idea of whats about to hit me, but also the suspicion that its going to be like nothing Ive ever experienced before! Got to learn a lot of law it seems...Its no good giving it 'Im arresting you under um, er Section I think its 9, or is it 10 of the Theft Act er 19.......68 I think!' We have to know all the law and what act it comes from and what all the definitions of crimes are! Blimey!
But I'll still find time to squeeze a few wets down with you lot if you'll still have me?

All,
I'm in the process of trying to get this rolling full speed.
So far we may have good accomodation for those who need it, scran (festive of course

) DJ if required, close to town, bar that will stay open to our requirements on site.
What I need is some feed back ref numbers, if you're interested PM me and then I can go firm.
Also I need some idea of what you want, if you want it formal sit down meal and then followed by a mad run, if you want to go firm in one place etc. You know the drills, just let me know.
I also need to know what sort of money you are prepared to spend on accom so I know whether to barter or not with hotels.
So you know what I need, PM me don't post it here as I don't get much time to check the forums these days.
Cheers
Oakers

Why not? It's only and hour on the chuff chuff from Crewe. Once a set date is in place put me down for a Campari and soda.
We can all stay with Owdun, I'm sure he would'nt mind in the least!

Dates, Timings, Actions on are all on route. If I say provisionally say the 13th December then you can start working to that. It's the last Saturday before the 20th and I didn't think most of you would want the hassle that close to Chrimbo.
Keep the PM's coming, Bootneck cheers for your help in getting this rabble in to some sort of order mate
Anyway I'll keep you all posted of developments.
P.s. Prove for accomodation?
