I can never remember wearing a tin lid,except for a drill,we just had no use for them.My first issue was WW1 type,useless bloody thing,and I can't remember whenthe new shape arrived on the scene,as I say,we just never used them.

We Had the same type tin hats,we used the for exercises and
Kit inspections, Bloody things kept falling off every time you ran
I dont know when they changed it, maybe someone will come on
and tell us.
