Not my favourite Military film

Not one of my favourite military films, but it was in the Telegraph today that Col Johnny Bourne has died aged 84. He commanded the Canadian/American soldiers of the First Special Service Force during WWII. They were nicknamed the 'Black Devils', and, back on thread, they were the subject of the 1968 film, 'The Devil's Brigade'. I don't think anyone has declared that to be a favourite, and Col Johnny Bourne didn't like it either!!

There are loads of WW2 films and loads of films on the americans loseing in vietnarm, but why are there no films on the falklands!? Surly some director out there should think about this, and make the film without the holywood bullsh*t, to show the courage of the best soldiers in the world when they responeded to the falklans invasion. This will also give knowledge to those who know little about it, and to tosspots like me who sometimes get their facts wrong.

Funnily enough this film has just been made in secret but is not quite what you are looking for.

okay, things have gotten a little too expressive here. theres a place for poorly placed bad language like that, and its called a private message.

rash, jonboy was talking about films, and its a subject i have often wondered about, and im gessing many others have too. if you are referring to the question about what the royals did in falklands, cut him a little slack. the falklands is seen as "the paras war" by just about every member of the public, so you cant blame anyone for thinking otherwise. jonboys question about the lack of falklands films is just, i mean they made films bout iraq 1 and somalia and that was only 10 years ago, not 20.

jonboy, theres no need for Northernism. if you look hard enough through all the threads you will find a decent post slagging off any area of the UK, so you can join in there. i no rash was a little rash (get it?!) in his response to you, but there is no need for that kind of language in an open forum.

Mr. Aggressive is the perfect personality for anybody who is attempting to get over beatings they suffered from school bullies during 5th grade. By acting like an all-out asshole and threatening physical violence on people you'll clearly never meet, you can benefit from a wonderful stress reducer! Plus people will think you're a tough guy, and they won't be aware you're actually an anemic 14-year old who has to be home schooled because you have a phobia of sunlight and trees. When posting, it helps to remind yourself that you're hidden behind an IP adress and Hotmail account, and nobody's ever been able to track down somebody online because it's nearly impossible thanks to tools like Norton Crashguard and Microsoft Notepad.

EXAMPLES. Mr. Aggressive will post the following messages:

Counter-Strike forum: "Oh yeah?!? How about I come over there and shove that Desert Eagle up your ass, you sissy little sh*t?!?"
Star Trek forum: "Oh yeah?!? How about I come over there and shove that phaser up your ass, you sissy little sh*t?!?"
Honda Civic forum: "Oh yeah?!? How about I come over there and shove that Honda Civic forum up your ass, you sissy little sh*t?!?"

Peds, amended the script, hope this is more suitable?

Jonboy I ain"t a Northener(came from down in Warwickshire ,next village to Peds)moved up here when I came outside.

On the subject of films on the SA Campaign as mentioned earlier the Commandos tale is very factual, has been out since about late 80s and may be hard to come by and it aint a film it is factual. :fadein:

I've seen it. Its good, well written and entirely believable (unlike most of the sh*te that comes out of hollywood). If I remember rightly doesn't it bring up the subject of PTSD - for the first time in a film if I remember rightly.
