Sounds like you and I could have a pint together young fella. You might be only out of training but you're displaying the kind of common sense that myself and a lot of regular posters on this site don't see in many of the other young folk we see on the site.
If your travels ever take you to Edinburgh gimme a shout and I'll show you the best places to drink and have a hooley with your mates.

What you should do is get a few mates together and get up here for a weekend. The hunting is good in town I can promise that. we can all have a couple of pints early doors then I'll make myself scarce before making a twat of myself in front of the younger generation. Before skedaddleing though I'll show you guys where the tottie hangs out. Bear in mind Edinburgh has all night licencing so be prepared for a heavy session.

I won't bore you with details but dig up some accom near the centre of the old town and I'll keep you right after that. Forget the new town. Too dear and not crammed full of students or tourists

I've no experience of the TA mate but they seem to be called on more and more and more and I think, due mainly to the reduction of regular army strength the TA is becoming more like it was designed to be in 1908.

You'll get a stable belt soon mate and you can shove it in their faces. In the meantime I'm off to enjoy some telly. I'm getting too pissed to type.
Enjoy
