If it's that you are after it's better to have an Eton education first and then head of to Sandhurst :o Funnily enough McGrabb referrs to this short of thing in Immediate Action I think!

Try and get hold of some Zinc oxide tape,It works wonders when taping up blisters on your feet. As blisters will be a common thing for the first couple of weeks. Maybe get hold of some scotch brite and some cloth's, a good Rifle cleaning kit that u get 2getha will save time when cleaning ur rifle which you will do many times.
Most of the swimming is done in the first six weeks, however its not much maybe once a week. I would just thrash yourself with running over the next few weeks, get a good standard of fitness before going in. While your there just act the grey man and try not to get noticed and dont worry about all the gobby cnuts who always get the platoon thrashed they soon go after a few weeks. Try and block out all the bullshit in the first few weeks it does get easier.

It is hard but at the same time enjoyable, its when you'l have the best laughs with your mates, i still look back on my training and some things i just think were funny as fcuk. My intake started with 50 and 11 of us jo's past out.

No dont bother, you can get good enough ones for about £20. Dont be worried about silly things like that, just get the stuff on the kit list and the few extras that i mentioned and you'l be fine. Be more concerned with working on your fitness prior to joining. Try and get a few 1.5 mile best efforts done and try and do the bleep test ( download of the net) because thats what your going to be doing in screening week (1st week).

Okay cheers for the information. One more thing, whats the First week of tests like? Will i be doing best effort press ups and sit ups in 2 minutes?

Yes the first week include those tests. I think its on the monday in the afternoon you do your 1.5 mile warm up then best effort, and also the most situps/pushups in 2 mins. you will also do a swimming test and a introduction to the tranasium.

Plus you'll do the steeple chase too as well as some very painful circuit training :o

Regarding the swimming, Isit essential I take swimming trunks rather than shorts?

You will be using your army issue shorts for swimming, stop worrying about the little bits and worry about the big bits like fitness.

Ok, I would like to think my fitness is above average as on Tuesday I done 1.5 mile best effort on grass in 8:37. (The distance is exact because I was using my brothers GPS forefunner).
