Protein doesn't just make you 'put muscle on or gain weight'. One of the three main classes of food. Proteins are made of amino acids, which are called the building blocks of the cells. The cells need proteins to grow and to mend themselves. Runners need as much protein as anyone as massive muscle damage is caused from running, right down to the cell membranes from free radicals which also causes mass tissue damage.JC wrote:Eat lots of fish (especially tuna) and drink alot of milk every day. Taking food rich in protein is always a good idea, but tuna? hmm more than three cans a week will leave great amounts of mercury in your body, the effects of this is quiet worrying. Milk? hmm yeah, the fat and cholesterol in this makes it not the best either.
Here is a great idea, what if we could extract pure protein from foods rich in it, such as egg, soya, whey, calcium caseinate from milk and milk also. This would give us near pure protein without all the negatives of other nutritional ingredients.
I think people get confused with 'complete' supplements, such as Maximuscle brands, this isnt just protein. It is a collection of ingredients which include protein to give people a generic supplement.
