Yes quite a few guys took their own boots (Navy Transfers) the cpl's check the tread but you should be OK

BTW the 33rd hand boots werent too bad no insoles mind.

Cheers, is the state of them an issue?? As in, are you expected to clean/polish for lines, or are they only used for certain activities and ignored the rest of the time??

the boots generally were in decent condition
but after a few trips under the scamble nets my sole started flapping off at the front...about 2inches! lived through the next hour and a half okay, shame they were three sizes to small for me to do and did no end of damage to my heel!....curse the bleeding things;)
