What do you think all those Private Military Companies (PMCs) are? Why are they full of personnel on "leave" from UKSF etc.?

I doubt this is an original thought, but...

Soldiering is like sex: Those who talk about it the most have probably done it the least!

I think sex is like soldiering. Those who have done it the least talk about it the most!! My wife thinks I'm a bit of a chatterbox!!

There was an article in my local paper about a bloke who told 2 women he was in the S.A.S and that they had to go with him because they were a threat to 'National Security'. Ok-some people are a bit dippy-but surely if they were a threat -they wouldn't have sent:
A- 1 bloke
B- An SAS bloke

would they???

Spike Milligan would have had a field day with that one!

I think it's disgusting the way some people pretend to be sf. I am currently trying to get into the Royal Marines, and knowing what the SAS and SBS (respectivly) go through to do what they do makes me shiver. SF is something i would love to have the opportunity to not be able to tell anyone about some day. But until that day comes, i remain a wanabee, which is not something to be ashamed of so long as i dont start spouting stories in the pub of my "dramatic entrace to the embassy".
These people should learn some respect for the brave and bold men who wear the coveted berets.

Yeah, I agree completely. At 14, I realise perfectly that I'm a wanabee with anything military. Again, I'd love to be SAS/SBS someday. However, I'm not an idiot and I realise that my fitness is nowhere near high enough and it would be seriously hard to ever even get near their levels. My current wanabee ambition is to get into the RMR, and I realise that even that would be very hard. I realise perfectly well that I'm nobody special, and would have to work very hard to make it.

So as you can see, I am a wanabee, but I'm nothing like those twats in pubs using the SAS as a chat-up line.

As they say, if all the people who say they were on the embassy balcony were actually there, it would have collapsed under their weight!

You're allowed in pubs at 14, just not for alcahol.

And I know! I'm not talking about applying tomorrow!
