Sp10122 I tryed to find the requirements but can't, if you could find them out, ie in dioptres that would be really helpful. By the way have you gone straight to EFTS from Sandhurst or were you with a different regiment before?

Good luck with your training by the way.

I know I'm outside the RAF pilot eyesisght requirements (the optician at Cranners happened to mention it as we do the same tests).

People do transfer in from other Regts but not a large number, probably less than 10 a year.

Daywalker - have you spoken to the Army at all? Good luck at PRMC. You may well find that your eyesight meets Army/Navy pilot requirements. You cannot join the RMs as a pilot, of course the option is open though after a tour (I'm no sure of the exact requirments)

Thanks sp10122.

I assumed that eyesight requirements for all aircrew in forces would be the same as i thought all the testing would be at Cranwell.

I know you don't have to be an officer in AAC to be a pilot but i thought you have to be in FAA or as a Marine Helicopter Pilot!????
