Mike,
You will be fine mate. Im planning on re-joining next year when i will be 25, i was 21 when i was in RT before and there was a whole range of ages from 16 to two guys who were 27.Of course sometimes the younger ones may get to you a little but you,ll just have to deal with that and accpept it i guess. The thing is you will all be different people, different ages, different likes/dislikes etc but you will all have one thing in common, and that is the aim to get your green lid. So you will work together to get through it as a team regardless of anything else when it comes down to it.

ditto, I am in holding troop at RMR City of London. I turn 31 in March next year. I am not even the eldest as I have said previously there are guys transferring over from the TA who are well into there 30's. There are also guys who are a lot lot younger, we all get on well and enjoy a laugh and a beer after Phys. Can't see there will be a problem.

Would be proud to have you in my troop mate, the experience you could bring and having someone who has so much experience is a morale boost in itself. Best of luck with your choice mate, I cant echo everyones thoughts but I'm pretty sure you'd have no problems fitting in.

It is hard with full time job and mortgage etc, but the hardest thing i found is running! this time last year i was an 18st bodybuilder and the only concern there was getting as big as possible. i couldnt walk up stairs without stopping halfway, im now 13st and run 6 miles a night (3 miles in 20min flat) and feel 10 years younger. id recomend training for the prmc to everyone.

Seriously though - 6 miles a night, every night?
Be careful of injury mate with all that training, especially the dreaded shin splints!!

I always thought this would be the problem with bodybuilding, I am interested to know if a bodybuilder could do a decent amount of pullups. I find that pullups and pressups develop my muscle in proportion to my bodyweight, which is ideal I think. I weigh 14.5 stones and can now do 10 clean pulllups, 4 months ago I could only do 2, my weight has not changed at all.

I was doing that 3 times per week and as well as footy training 3 timers per week, it was too much and now I have an injury which is stopping me doing a PRMC, I would advise against running everyday, there is just no need, plus you will lose too much weight.

With the pull ups I used to do 4 sets of 20 reps with weights hanging from my belt, it was a crazy time back then: sit ups holding a 20kg weight on my chest, press ups with a guy on my back ( not naked though!) slow concertrating on form. For the prmc though i dont go to the gym at all. normal press ups and sit ups along with running and dips are enough for me at the moment, and iv never felt so fit.
iv started to cut back on the running, when i started i had to stop before running half a mile because i was so unfit so that meant panic set in so being me i hammered it till i was comfortable. I have found running to be as addictive as working out in the gym.
I also sold my running machine after the PJFT my shins after using that were agony, huge hard lump on my shin, that was 2 months ago and now my shins are back to normal. Does anyone know if you use running machines on RT as i can just about manage 1.5 miles on one.
