Craig i've just seen this quote in your sig 'Recruit training in the Parachute Regiment is arguably the toughest and most professional in the world'.

Now there's an ex 5 year para in my troop and he wouldn't agree on the most professional bit comment one little bit.

nick just a quick question, in training at the weekends how many blokes go off to see their girlfrends rather than go out with the lads?
Does it affect their training positively or negatively?

A few Girlfriends of the lads in my troop have travelled to Exeter to meet up with there BF's. The lads then take them to a hotel room or Hog's Head toilet give them a good seeing to before catching the train back to CTC.

Were only aloud to 21:59 at the minute, it could change when we get our new passes in week 8 though.

its mostly the same with our guys in the 927 troop, i think we had one guy who had his girlfriend meet him and then there was some other guy that went home for like 2 hours, other then that we all went to hogs head and downed a few pints

On the same sorta note as that subject, how much are you allowed to use your phone during training? Are you allowed off camp for the weekends?

most blokes in my troop just walk outside after we're done when we're doing our admin, and just call, and then when lights go out most of them are texting all their girlfriends and friends. There are no restrictions as long as you call on your own time and not the marines time. As for going off camp, during your first week there you can go into exeter for about 5 hours i think, thats what we got and most of it was panicing around trying to get all the kit we needed for our upcoming exercise. but we also fitted in some time for a pint as well.

I cant remember correctly but this is roughly right.

The first weekend you'll have to be back by about 6pm, but after that its basically COP to 21:59. After week 8 your allowed out basically all night saturday night but im not sure what time sunday you have to be back, On the friday you'll have to be back i think by midnight IF its a working saturday (which it will almost always be).
