hey, i am in week 11, just came off dartmoor. Dont stress too much about fitness. You will find that when you get there the fitness is easy and that other things stress you out more. I personally think there is way to much talk of fitness on here and not a lot of day to day life and drama's.

You enjoying it mate?
Tell me as much as you can about the last 11 weeks, highs and lows, it would be a big motivator.
cheers mate

Training is great. You hate being there when you wake up and you live for the weekend. You learn a lot of stuff everyday however you get messed about just as much. It really does bring out the person in you. Fitness standards are a big deal, but not as much as people go on about on here. Be fit of course, but realise training aint just about that. Take a good attitude and learn to take things on the chin. My troop got thrashed by the ML's and let me tell you thats pretty much as bad as it gets. However after it ended we just carried on with the day.

I'm so jealouse of you mate, I probably won't think that when and if I get down there, but right I couldn't think of a better place to be.
Good luck for the rest of training

I had my brief today and i was given a kit list. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas of any extras that could be taken down to CTC. Cheers. Luke

I think there was a post about this a few weeks back. I cant remember everything that was listed but I do seem to remember moisturiser being somewhere in the 'must have' pile due to the amount of time exposed to the elements and showering. I think that a slick set of sun bins also came into mention.

Maybe somebody else can remember some of the others (or even find the thread)

If it aint on the list already (I have never seen one of the kit lists - maybe somebody could post it on here?!?!?) I would recommend taking some of those blister plasters - just a thought.

Ah well, hope that helps.

Also, you could try asking the boys down at your AFCO for their PERSONAL opinion. Obviously the official stand point will be that everything you NEED is on the list. However with their years in the corps they may have a few tricks of the trade.

Good luck, be sure to report back.
