My favourite is having supper early evening and then going out after dark. You've obviously got more time in winter but I still love it around this time. The feeling that everyone else is winding down and you're still at it is great - same as early morning I suppose. Also means you can have some fun with the drunks at weekends...![]()

I hope you marked time while this was going on.nickosx wrote:I have been stopped by the police and handcuffed before when on a night run (2130 ish), it was early jan and fugging freezing so i was wearing my jogging bottoms and tracksuit top, there had been a burglery in the neighbourhood i had just run through, so there i am just running down the road with my headphones in when a police van overtakes me and 2 police officers jump out and start running towards me on path, i kept running until i realized they were shouting at me, so i stopped, took my headphones out and asked what was going on, they didnt say anything to me then apart from 'come ere' they turned me around and put me in handcuff's, it was only when they were walking me back to the van, with lots of protest from me that i explained what i was doing and they told me about the burglery, still they kept me for 5 mins until they checked and realized it wasnt me, they did apologise though![]()

See, living in concrete-ville i miss out on all these countryside adventures, I think im too urbanised.letsrole wrote:I usually do training after about an hour and a bit after dinner. I once remember running over 'the farmers fields' and it was quite dark (about 10pm in December). There I was minding my own business and the farmer drove over in his landy with lights on full beam. He told me if he ever saw me in his field again he would have the right to shoot me because I was scaring his sheep (no I'm not from Wales and I was ONLY running)!! Naturally I scarpered and never ran over those fields with music in my ears or at night again (he only seems to come out at night you see). In fact come to think of it I don’t use those fields at all anymore!
Since when do sheep stay in fields in December anyway? Fark it, I wasnt going to ask him that.
Just a quick bite mate, if i have a full breakfast i usually have about an hours rest before i go out. I hardly ever have a full breakfast in the morning though.Felias wrote:If I have anormal breakfast I at least leave 2 hrs before I even start warming up and stretching. Maybe do some extra carb loading, preferrably some sports drinks and electrolytes in the golden half hour after exercise. Some nice carbs do wonders to replace lost glycogen in the muscles upto 1.5/2 hours after exercise.mfat_man wrote:I have a problem as I run events for business at the university, which are often in the evening. Obviously I like to get the gym a couple of times a week but I find that if I exercise in the day I am washed up in the evening.
Guess it's my age I suppseAny suggestions here?
i dont think being tired should stop you training though because in prmc and the 32 week commando course you will be tired almost constantly but you must still work as hard as you can through the tiredness. working through the yawns is all part of training for the marines as its a test of endurance and most people will give up cause they cant be bothered and would prefer to put their feet up when their tired. its that 00.01% that will push through it. just my opinion though i havnt even done prmc yet so it aint experience talkingi really dont think it matters when you train as long as your not tired when you start it.
