FIBUA went to OBUA and DIBUA and is now known as FISCH where FISCH stands for Fighting In Some C's House!!

PS The gloves were called NI Gloves by the troops cos you only got them (officially that is) when on tour over the water. The pad on top was to lessen the effects of poxy brick walls and things caning your hands when adopting fire positions etc.

The glove was withdrawn when it became apparent that the troops used them as boxing gloves when "controlling" members of the local populace.

The black leather gloves are still issued, but they are minus the thick knuckle pads.

The leather gloves are good when using the GPMG, if you only use one on your left hand, it can save alot of pain if you accidently touch the gas parts on the gun. But a simple answer to that, is dont touch the bloody gas parts when they are hot

You could use rubber gloves to do the dishes on the battle field. Also those thick ones so it dosn't hurt so much when sliding down ropes.
