another thing about chinups to note is that at RSC you have to start with straight arms, get your chin above the bar and return under control to straight arms again.....i was doing the door frame routine for ages and can do about 20 or so before getting tired but i wasn`t starting from having straight arms as my door isn`t ten feet high.... i found that when i do the technique that they do at RSC its 10 times harder and can barely do 10 heaves.....my advice is to makes sure you can do the required amount from straight arms as i fooled myself for ages thinking i had it cracked

Yep, good point. I do mine with full lock, like you said. Straighten the arms fully. I didn't used to, a few months back, and it was easier. Then I realised I was doing them like a retard and promptly changed to the correct way. I actually find the correct way easier now.

There is no magic formula to being able to to loads of heaves. Just keep doing them on a reguar basis and you will improve. I started out hanging from the bar not able to lift myself to do one and now I can do ten with little bother. It took me about three months.
Paitence and determination is the key to improvement.

JJ mate to pass PRMC and get into the Royals you only need to do 6. (at their pace, mind.) So if you can do 6 you'll have no trouble for Army RSC. I think you only need 2 or 3
