Hannah Snell married a Dutch sailor by the name of James Summs (I think), he divorced her after getting her up the duff a year or so later. The baby died prematurely, she dressed in her step-brother's (James Gray) clothes and took on his identity in order to pursue her husband. She got press-ganged and fought against Bonnie Prince Charlie before being shipped to India, fought and was wounded at Pondicherry. She treated her groin wound herself to avoid her sex being discovered. Least that's the story I've got!! She returned with the fleet (can't remember date off the top of my head) and sold her story...though she had quite a legal battle to get recognition of her service, as records and paperwork barely existed.
