I've done the one at the Briefing, i beleive its the same, and am 5'9. I ran it, jumped and had no trouble even though it was icy.

James don't go giving advice when you don't know what you're talking about. My grandma could get over if she had her stomach on it, thats not the difficult part. The difficult part is getting your elbows ontop of the wall and heaving yourself up. Some guys had serious problems with it, and had to miss it out altogether.

My advice is practice chin ups the way the marines do it (knuckles facing you), as this mimicks how you would climb a wall. And, though it may seem silly, go for a run in the woods and climb a few trees, it really helps.

There is no definite answer to that question. My RCB briefing and RCB were only a month away because I was near the maximum age limit and the RCB made allowances. You go to one of those tables in the ante room, move the coffee saucers out of the way and select your date, it seemed thast simple at the time.

If you're in a rush to get to the RCB for whatever reason, show a little bit of audacity and persistence and the date will come before you know it.

Be careful what you wish for, 'cos you'll get it!

They book main boards only as far as 3 months in advance. Therefore if you are organised, you can get it three months after your briefing (at the latest).

I got a Cat 1, but i'm not doing the main board until August because of exams etc.; and it will give me extra time to prepare.

Mike_B thank god somone else climbs trees I was beginning to think I was insane!
As far as dates go I've got my brief 8-9 March and was hoping to do my RCB as soon as possible afterwards does anyone know how soon after you can do it!
Oh I have a full list of the dates for breifs and boards if anyone wants it PM me.

Anyone know what sort of questions you get asked in the education interview?

In the education interview, likely with an ETS Lt Col you'll be asked about your degree, why you're joining instead of pursuing your major, what books you read, that sort of thing, I thought of it as more of a survey than anything.

The one with the higher ranking officer is probably the most important, that will bring out more of your character, where the one with the major near the seminar rooms is your chance to say all the right things, it also gives some idea of what the training will be like.
