scottsbb,
I would suggest you start now! A year and a half is not very long to build up a level of fitness. You sound as though you think everything will be OK because you spent the last three months fitness traing from zero.!!
If I was at Uni. in this day and age ( bearing in mind that back in the 60's say, we didn't have computers, gameboys or even that much television, most youngsters used sport for recreation and social activities, so were therefore more "naturally" fit than the current generation!). I would be engaged in all sorts of physical activities. It is too easy to think that you can get reasonably fit in a short time!!

sneaky beaky,
thanks for the advice, i do train every week, its just that if i do to much now, it'l be hard to keep it up which is why im trying to build my fitness up slowly to get to a high level by the time i finish uni.
i take part in football and cricket at uni so thats also keeping me fit.

Well done scotsbb
You cannot reach too high a fitness level. If you do and then go through Uni. just playing sport you will be OK. By doing that you will be maintaining your fitness levels and if you do that you will be OK for joining. Don't forget that the first couple of months of training are spent on getting the recruits up to a level where they can continue with RM Commando Training. I still think you should maintain a good fitness level before you join. It will make it just that little bit easier!! Not much!! But just that little bit!
Yours,
S.B.
