Statistic,

Just to save you an ear bashing, that Mountain Leader with the crown over his stripes was a Colour Sergeant, the Royal Marines don't have staff sergeants. Once you are trained and have proved yourself in a Commando unit he may let you get away with calling him Colours, until then, respect the man.

Dear Statistic,

Whilst I admire your efforts to become a RM Officer, I truly hope you do not achieve your objective ..... An Officer, whilst most of the time the subject of derision from ORs, is expected to have a certain amount of intelligence and to be able to display it and use it ...

Frankly your spelling is attrocious and your grammar is non-existent - however, on your side, you can actually blame the current education system for failing you.

gonna = going to
marine = Marine
Mountin = Mountain
leader = Leader
officer = Officer
staff = Staff
sargent = Sargeant
descided = decided
no = know
settled = settled
becuase = because (admit your fingers could have been dyslexic at this point !)
i = I
corpral = Corporal

You are meant to be the best ... work on it !

But as you stated in one of your messages

"I didn't want to go in as an officer ..... "

Ok, I'm sorry that my spelling isn't up to Royal Marine standards. It's a weakness I have, like a lot of other people.
But just because my spelling is not brilliant, I make up for it with other things.
At college I was the only person out of the whole class to get each of the 32 full assignments in on time last year, for most of themi received distinctions. That's considering most of the class didn't even make it into the second year.
I was going to go to university, but the Royal Marines means more to me, so I'm scraping Uni' and going for it.
So let's not take the piss, but obviously I agree, the spelling is 'atrocious'.

WHY?

Well Steve, imagine you are the trusty PW who has spent the past 45 minutes chasing your little gaggle of nods around Woodbury, then bollocked them for being the laziest bunch of half-wits this side of Nagasaki; wouldn't it confuse and disorientate you if they were still smiling after doing the regulatory 30 press-ups, 30 sit-ups and burpees?
So to keep your end up, and confuse the team, keep smiling, doesn't hurt, but disconcerts. :D
