Congrats Jamie, good job!
Sorry to hear about your injury C_Cummings, it's just bad luck that you got injured at that stage, at least you know exactly what to do and expect for the 2nd time round! You are going to do it again aren't ya?

Tough luck Mr Cummings, better luck next time. C_ is an unusual first name, by the way
And Jamie, you star, well done mate

Do you have a start date yet?
All the best to you Jamie
Aye Harry

As soon as my knee feels better I'll be back training for round 2. I'm phoning today to get another date arranged.
Best of luck to to the guys that passed.

Congratulations fellows. I've been working away trying to raise enough money for another shot at PRMC and it looks like January is a go. Looking forward to seeing your beautiful country and friendly muggers again.

Gipper - How much did you find you needed for your first try? My friend has offered to let me sleep in his flat, but he may be moving in the next month or so, which would mean I'd have two weeks in hostels and I haven't a clue how much I'll need.

My round trip ticket (Vancouver-London) was a little over C$700. I stayed in a hostel for about 15pounds per night and spent about the same per day on food. All total, I got there on Jan 26th, did all the testing that week and went to PRMC on Feb5-8 and then flew back on the 9th. The time at PRMC was of course all payed for.
There's no way I'd stay in a hostel again. With Victoria being a smoke free city it was a huge annoyance having people smoking in the common room of the hostel and I think that contributed to me having a bad cold for the first week or so. I'd definately make the effort to either save up a bit more money for a better accomodation or try and stay with a friend or relative.

Thanks lads

sorry about your knee C_ but im guessing it will only make you more determined next time round. I dont have my start date yet but im hoping ill find out very soon.
Trying to tell my friends back home what the PRMC was like and how hard it had been was weird as i felt like they couldnt really comprehend the effort i put in and how physically draining it was. Only those who have been on the course will know what it was like, and in that respect i understand how recruits/marines form the greatest friendships becuase they have all shared the same amount of pain and know how it feels. I should imagine in a conflict this is magnified 100's of times over.
Keep us all updated C_ and please tell us your first name!!

I know what you mean about not connecting with your friends. One of my best mates when I was explaining how hard it was comes out with "Once in some pre-season football training it was like that" I was like dick you play for a sunday league side!
Don't worry you manage to put up with them now I am just desperate to go back

My names Colin hence the C_!!
Trained last nite for the 1st time since PRMC but my knee was quite stiff. Going to consult a physio before I do any serious damage.

Gipper, try and get a student card and join the Youth Hostels association, it's a much cheaper alternative and offers safe, clean accommodation; available in most towns and cities. Try

little chopper,
high flying,
hard landings,
expounding the benefits of soft leather attire
(I think he even touched on Mars bars once)
not to mention - no I wont go there...............
