It seems there is 2 versions of "First into Action" kicking about. There is "First into Action: Life Inside the SBS" and "First into Action: A Dramatic Personal Account of Life in the SBS".
Any ideas on the difference?

Rabby,
Duncan Falconer only wrote one book called First into Action.
You will find that the two versions are in fact the same book but under different covers.
One I have seen has a silver type cover whilst the other has a 'made-up' type badge on the cover.

Read a book in the mid 1980's about a guy who did selection for the TA SAS a few years after I failed. Lent it to a nurse who did a runner with it when she changed hospitals.
Want to read it again (though now probably out of print) .Can anyone help with either author or title?
Mark.

Mark,
You might be thinking of a book called "The Quiet Soldier" by Mark Bellinger (sp?). It was about his selection attempt with 21 SAS down at the Chelsea barracks. Quite a good read I thought.

Thanks Joe.
I seem to remember this book is mentioned elsewhere on the forum.
Will seek it out
Mark.
Update Joe.
Nope, not the book I mean, judging by the reviews on Amazon.
The quest continues.

Mark,
Well, even if Quiet Soldier isn't the one you're thinking of, I'd still recommend reading it

Get back to Amazon and place an order ...
