Practise, persistence, perseverance ..with a liberal amount of sweat thrown in for good measure. …And don’t go for Rocky style ‘clap press ups’ straight away. This website may help out with specific training tips.

It was always the chin-ups that did for me…. Always ended up dangling on the beam like a biff for ages trying to ‘jerk’ myself up. I could never master the technique and tried to rely on (ahem..) ‘brute strength’ when guys either side of me seemed to just bend their legs and have an effortless ‘dipping and nodding up’ routine from the midriff that got them up and hardly relied on arm movement. Nearly took out my top set on several occasions when I made it to the top and celebrated by accidentally clinging onto the edge of the beam with my front teeth……..

Thankfully if I want to get up a beam nowadays, I’m allowed to use a ladder…….

Passed my PGAC Just waiting for a date to start my training now, should be january....Chuffed to bits

Thats not what I was told, They said maybe if there is drop outs of courses which there will more than likely be then it will be earlyer, they were saying they have met there 600 quota for the year.
