Bottom line...you need to beast yourself to your limits then push some more. the harder you push yourself before depot, the better depot will be for you.

How much more difficult is it for an Aussie to join the Para's?

There are plenty of Aussies in the paras. My mate had to live in the UK and work for a bit while his application process went through, i think he was in the UK for a year or so working behind bars etc for some cash while the army did his application and he did all of his tests etc.
