Hey lads, good to see you're still about. Are you still going into the tarzan trade Ian?

Rob, sorry to hear you got MDd in the end, at least the way you've done it you can have another crack if you manage to sort yourself.

Hard to bear Yogi...
Hold your head high, you have no shame at all. You have walked where giants walk. At least you opted out, that way, you can go back if it is sorted. If not... the old bill bekons.
Best of luck fella, at least you were there and learnt a lot from it. Take those lessons with you in life and you'll not go far wrong

Hi Rob

You're wrong if you feel ashamed in any way about your failure to complete training.

We have a troop reunion every year. Recently we've had oppos turn up who took options and left during training, some who were medically discharged during and just after training, myself who was back trooped with an injury and so on. Above all that, we are still that same troop that struggled together, laughed together, cried, drank and suffered together. They are more family to me than my real family could ever be.

What I'm saying is that once you've been a Marine, in any form, you will always be a Marine, for ever. If we cut you in half in 30 years time you'll be like a stick of Rock with Royal Marine writ large.

Hi Rob!!
Sorry I haven't been in touch earlier, just been a bit busy lately.
Don't ever feel "ashamed" that you couldn't complete training because of a medical problem. There have been thousands before you.
At least you have the option of going back - should your condition improve.
You also have the proud fact that you chose to start one of the toughest courses in the world and were only sidelined because of an injury.
You have nothing to be ashamed of.
See you for a pint.
PM on the way!!

Thanks guys

Harry - I'm sure you're right and that I'd be taking a massive risk on my future, so I'm having 6 months cooling off and at the end of that I'll decide. Too soon now.

Sneaky - PM sent

Ruggee - Ian mate I'm good, tree surgery all you were hoping for? Still waiting on my invite across!!!!

Poppet - Off guard duty and on your Drives course now? best of luck with that fella. Say hello to Greenie if you see him.

Right, I'm going to leave the thread now and let the new wave of Hunter lads drip away (let's face it they need the outlet - Stress from all the "Bedding" that's been going on.)
