I can't believe anyones having this discussion!? Of course there are gay people in the navy but then there are in the army and the crabs too, and its probably a lower percentage than civvie street. One way you can find out though is to go and ask any matelot if he's queer and see how long your health lasts. He won't be happy. It won't be a problem, if it was i think you'd hear more about it than the stupid old stereotype the army started. But at least you won't have to sleep in muddy puddles. All the best in your career.
