A question for the US members

For Frank, Whitey and Wholley,

What is NORAD (sorry sp ??) ?

All I know its this government facility in Colorado Springs and President Bush goes there in emergencies, 30 miles underground and there is a special satellite system which has a unique specific function.

Sorry, if I am confusing, its late. I am just curious to know about it
