Im Back

Post by cglees »

Well im back guys
F*ck me this stuff is tough!!
Its the lack of sleep that gets me down, im having a wicked time though.
Loads of good friends and lots of fun and adventure!!!
We had a mud run on wed and wrote the troop number in the mud so everyone would see it when they went on leave. It was amazing, the admin was a bit of a nightmare aferwards though as we'd only just got back from the field and only had 1 clean rig!!
Im off out on the piss tonight i should imagine, any questions about the training just let me know!

Welcome back. How far through your training are you now?

P.S. Just saw your other post saying you are in week 24. All down hill from now on.

Hello cglees. Hows the training?

How many did you start with and how many are left now (in your troop)?

And, if any have dropped out what are the reasons.

Hi Cglees, glad you are enjoying it mate.

Is it gut wrenching stuff most of the time or getting progressively harder?

Whats the best thing about it ? (bit of a lame question i know)

and lastly was it what you expected toughness wise?

cheers mate,

We started with 45 i think, not sure, 5 have left
one guy walked out of the attestation, one guy was a complete nobber and fained flat feet to get out, one guy had a pretty bad start and got constant sh*t from the training team, he couldn't take anymore after week 3, one guy was a bit soft and homesick so he left and my mate Rob, top bloke very switched on, screwed his knee up, he didn't fancy 14 months in hunter so he left too!!

Still a few idiots in the troop and we have had alot of beastings because of them, hopefully by week 7ish we should be going ok

Now that really is a good effort, I mean finding mud in this heat must have been hard. :P
There are 3 kinds of people: those who can count & those who can't.

cheers mate,
Well, the phy's so far has not been as hard as i would like; the gym sessions are very hard because i work very hard and give 100% so i always leave the gym knackered, but i just feel i need more gym sessions, or longer ones. Some days we only have 1 50min period!

Best thing has been the guys in the troop, its such a good laugh and everyone helps everyone out, its great!

It is pretty gut wrenching, it was hard from day one and has been getting harder; the inspections get harder and its all the mental stuff, its not just physical we have to learn history and all of the characteristics of the weapon and procedures and drills, its a big starin!!

Good fun though!

Yeah they always say that, its to try and motivate us.
No matter how hard we work they say it was crap because they want us to keep going, if they said well done and we all relaxed a bit we wouldn't be as good next time. We all knew we had worked hard that day, so we just took the beasting and got on with it!

Well done, cg.

Keep going. By the way, were people going on leave before the next 'tide' came in?

That's the spirit, Jimlad! :)

Good work CG, but is the rest of the troop feeling the same way about PT, or is it just perhaps that you're more fit than the other blokes? Unless of course the training team just want to really shock you when they crank up the intensity :).
