Hey everyone, sorry for appearing out of nowhere with this post, this is my 3rd post I think in the forum boards.

I'm getting worried about similar things. I feel really unfit and lame compared.
My weight is 127 pounds and I am only 5'7 in height.

When I did the PT in Knellar Hall along with the Musician trainees, my 1.5mi run was 11:30 (that was exactly a month ago). Last Wednesday, I run in Regent's Park and my 1.5mi was 13:52. I was really disappointed and that really knocked off my confidence.

I'm hoping to apply sometime in March so I have loads of time to get better but sometimes, I find it difficult to motivate myself especially when I feel like I'm very much alone in this in ordeal. Booo.

But yeah like Zoe, I think ARMY ARMY ARMY ARMY to keep me going.

Do short runs every day and gradually build up to a better time, if you have a bicycle then get out on it and do some hard riding, go swimming, and just keep exercising and build up your fitness, but it is some thing you should work at every day and not just now and again

iv got to say everyone has there own way of doing things and they can only tell you what they think but everyone is diffrent. also dont let yout run time put you off because 3weeks ago my run time was somethink stupid like 16-17mins but im down to 13:28 and im going on another timed run tomoro. for me i tend to run after dark so its abit cooler and i also do a timed run 1day then a 4mile run (2mile to helsby and 2 mile back) then a rest day (or 2 if i need it) and repeat. im gona start doing pushups on monday but im dreading the pullups i dont think i can lift my weight. but my motivation is getting out of the job im in and winning the bet i have with one of my friends.

Could be why, they're a sure fire way for me to get a stitch when I run.

I go for my runs 2-3 hours after eating and drinking, never suffer from stitches.

One time I had a fancy energy drink just before the run, pow, killer stitch.

Give it a try.

1.5 mile is low enough intensity that you can do it every day to improve.
If you're too heavy alternate with longer runs at a slower pace.

Remember you're supposed to run it as fast as you can, so you're ready to drop at the end, you should be puffing and sweating, not cruising round.

its only 9-10 mins of pain!

Just hope that you don't ever have to this in your gas mask, then it feels like some one is tearing your lungs out through your throat, now that is pain

Yeh my treadmills coming in a weeks time lol Im going to be at it 24/7 lol I will be going out to run but will be more on the treadmill..i know its more easier on the treadmill becuase its wind resistance but am sure its more motivating thanks to the onboard computer that shows speed, distance, calories burned and etc and all those different programmes...
