You enjoy digging graves then?agapito wrote:Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, 1 month 3 weeks until I start training as a pioneer, having second thoughts about the career I chose though.

Craves? Sometimes I get a craving for beer and Pringles, does that count?mattm08 wrote:You enjoy digging craves then?agapito wrote:Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, 1 month 3 weeks until I start training as a pioneer, having second thoughts about the career I chose though.
BTW, Pioneers do much more than dig graves, they're also experts at stagging on.
Dig graves. Stag-on.Tom163 wrote:Sorry i've got to ask its annoying me now, what do Pioneers actually do?
Cheers Tom
However they are also meant to be trained in construction and how to build defences, ie, barbed wire etc... They are also trained Infantry soldiers. They are part of the Logistics Corps.

Now you see why I'm having serious doubts about the Pioneers, everyone seriously put me off .
The careers office is now pushing me towards the Royal Engineers driver/ops. (I got told a majority of the driver/ops from the RE go to 9 Parachute regiment if they complete the training)

Dont be put off by a bit of banter. The Pioneers aren't that bad, you get to do a bit of everything, which is no bad thing at all.
It may not always be the most glamourous or exciting work, but if you keep your nose clean and are a switched on cookie, promotion is likely to come reasonably quickly.
Choose wisely.
