Post by Wolf »

Does anyone know the dates, roughly, for the 2007 intake(s)?

Cheers.

On my research trawl I've found varying lengths of time for recruit training; going from 10 months to 18 months. Am I safe to assume it's somewhere in the middle?

12-18 months seems to be the norm. its down to lots of factors like injuries and so on, if you get injured once it could put you back a long long time.
Applied: 11th November 05
Written test: Passed
Interview: Passed
Medical: Passed
PJFT: Passed 9.47
PRMC: october

Hello Chaps,

Too true Boris, and to expand on the other 'factors' mentioned it is worth bearing in mind as well as injuries pre-training and in training you may be held back for a number of other reasons they may be out of your control like missing training nights (eg girlfriend/wife/job), missing weekends (same applies), for not being physically ready or not making it at the end of Phase 1/2 tests.

I suppose it is also dependent on which detachment you are at, for example Bristol have continuous training and run an intake every six months so in theory with all things going you way (above) you could get your lid within 12 months. Other dets may only run one intake a year or every 7-8 months or so thus the Phases may be drawn out longer making it an overall longer experience.

I guess it is dependent on a lot of variables, should you wish to go down this route bloody good luck with it!
