Lol, thats ok RGJ, sometimes the bone posts turn out to bring an interestion conversation up.
In other news LOL - I just ran a 3miler in my combat boots in 20:47, and i have now reassured myself that i will not get blisters when running, i think that run has perfectly molded them to my feet, although running in them produces so much heat, and my feet were steaming HAHAHA
Just thought i would share, and did not want to start a new post .
P.S. Do not tell on me, I know i was not suppose to run in them, although how can you resist the temptation.

I'm just taking my ipod. Leaving my PSP at home and see if i should take it after foundation.
I've nearly got everything off my kit list now, just got to get some jeans that aren't ripped. Some Brasso, and thats everything.
Not sure if i'm getting anything else but i've made a little list of things that i might get, AA maglight, sewing kit, bungees, wind-proof lighter, unscented soap, bergen liners, sealable freezer bags, and a couple other things, can't remember.

I don't think it's a bone post rgj but I don't think it was a good idea mate. My tip for all would be not to do anything that makes you stand out in training and for you rgj ESPECIALLY anything that smacks of perce-ness. Shiny shoes in the field aint too tactical. I'm assuming that you've bulled them and not just polished them? Having said that there'll be lads on here with more recent experience than me.
Strange thing to do mate - haven't you heard of alcohol or porn Maybe just throw yourself around the bedroom for half an hour next time you feel the urge
Good luck

Nah my mum got me a new wash bag, and poilsh bag for xmas, so i felt a bit raw getting the other stuff, as i will just leave the stuff here she got me.
I need to get me a sewing kit (could slide my mums one hahaha, only joking). . Where can you get bergan liners from, can we just get them down there or is it best to get it here?
I still need to head to my shop and get them waterproof bags, will do saturday.
You mean toursers bungess right Jack? (might as well mailorder them now, incase i forget)
Ahh Brasso I aint got that yet. Thanks Jack.

Try Duraglit - brass wadding. An old toothbrush is handy for cleaning bits an bobs - like getting the mud out of the tread of your boots.
Trouser twists are a must and waterproof bags - the sturdier the better - those resealable ones should do it.
Metal soap dish is handy and hard to find in Exeter and a three-piece razor and a shaving stick or that oil stuff.
Check out sorbothanes - per previous posts.
It might be handy to be able to put your hands on some lead/lead weights for when the time comes.
Most important: a decent pair of bollocks and a sense of humour.
Enjoy

We had to have a soap dish...erm to keep our soap in Please no more perce-ness
It had to be metal because plastic ones will break when you're crowbar-ing all your kit into your bergan.
Disposable razors aren't a bad thing but we were only allowed to use three pieces as only razor blades were resupplied in the field - can you imagine the QMS..."right, who is Fusion, how about FXGL2 mark IVV". Pusser provides - to a point. Also if you're in the field you have to keep all your gash until you get back to camp, base, safety. It was more relaxed whn you got out of the box into the real world.
It might be worth checking these things as I'm talking about 15 years ago but there is some sense to them.
Oh, and wetwipes are top banana for getting cam cream off

Sully, you're showing your age mate
Disposable razors for the field (not your Mach 3 - the plastic Bic ones). Don't bother with bergan liners, you won't be allowed to use anything except the Pusser's ones until at least Phase 2 (and the Pusser's issue one's don't work at all ). Plastic bags for waterproofing are easy to get from the NAAFI. Soap dish, good idea, although unless you have a REALLY anal training team you'll be allowed liquid soap for the field (again easy to get from the NAAFI). The little bottles of shaving oil (buy from Boots) also better than soap stick/brush. Wet wipes you probably won't be allowed again until after Wk 15, but worth taking anyhow even if you can only use them when you get back in to camp. You can never have too many bungees (for bivvies etc, with the hooks on the end, available from all camping shops - not for your trousers, although always useful to have a few spares of them as well), or even just a roll of bungee cord you can cut bits off to fix permanently to the corners of your poncho. Sewing kit essential (although you'll hardly ever use it). PSP fine to take, tho you won't have much time to play it in Foundation. Once you move into your normal grots you can have whatever you like, TVs, stereos etc, as long as you can pack them all away for rounds.

Looks like you have the gen there fellas
As for this Druadan.....
How many Country & Western singers does it take to change a lightbulb?........one to change it and nine to sing about how good the old one was
Reminds me of a dit: a country and western 'theme' fancy dress night in Strandefjord - great costumes - one fella dressed as a huge cactus (made from roll mats 'liberated' from the store). Oppo turns up dressed as a tramp with a bottle of Cider......Oh, I thought it said "cnut from Weston" says he
Sounds like the Naafi shop has a lot of what you need - way back when it was a real test of resourcefulness finding the kit in odd shops around Exeter - and trying to get ashore on a Saturday afternoon in front of other troops who were after the same thing. Is it worth mentioning an extra webbing pouch? We had to get our own and BHS were out when I had a look And what about ironing boards? It was always a great site to see new nodericks pissing up in the Turks (Nods) Head and arguing over which board belonged to who at the end of the session and then staggering down the High Street with their new possession.

...isn't that what it's all about? Sounds like things have got better though.unless you have a REALLY anal training team
