Hi,
Sorry to take up Board space with more ignorant questions, I sent a Private Message to a few members that, as far as I am aware, have served with the RAF with my questions below. However as my interview is drawing ever closer I thought a public comment would be a better idea.
I am set to sit my selection Interview for the Job of Supplier this week.
I have read all the information on the RAF website and the career leaflets I received but there are just some questions still niggling at me.
1)Could you give me the names of some Supply Squadrons or are Suppliers assigned to different squadrons? Sorry for my ignorance.
2)During my interview will I get any questions regarding any aircraft specifications, such as supply planes?
3)Is there any Key Supply bases or information I should be familiar with?
Again im sorry to bother you all but im getting nervy and im grasping at straws to gain more information.
Any more tips from anyone that has gone through the interview process recently would be great, I’ll keep you all posted how I get on if fingers crossed I pass this interview and if needs be I do not mind answering questions of people a few stages behind me.
Thanks
A very nervous Scott

Selection Interview advice/Supplier
Hey mate, my interview asked questions regarding the RAF as a whole, where they had bases and what they were doing around the world. You should know about what the job entails and all the ins and outs. I doubt very much they'll be asking specific questions like plane specs. Thats what you'd be trained to know!
Good luck!
Good luck!

Never had this sort of interview but unlikely they will ask such deep questions but they might ask about procurement (purchasing) plenty of stuf on the net to look at.
Good luck

Thank you for taking time to reply guys and thanks for the PM biggles,
Is much appreciated, I am literally just back home from the Selection Interview and I am happy to report all went well and was told that I have passed the Interview and a good recommendation is being wrote, so i am still Smiling!
Its a bit nervy waiting to go in to the room, but the second the door closed my nerves seemed to vanish. Advice I can offer is do not be ashamed of being nervous but learn how to control your nerves and keep a clear head, it sounds a cliché and like something out of a career leaflet but the honest truth is that the Corporal interviewing you is not there catch you out or make things difficult for you. He began the interview with basically going over what topics he will be covering over the next 45min-hour. The topics are given in your career info booklet. Family Background, Hobbies and pastimes, Education & reasonabilitys in school, and the big one WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN THE ROYAL AIR FORCE. And why the job you are going for.
I was pleasantly surprised with the questions I was asked, nothing was too difficult to answer, the more you prepare and practise answering questions the better. Before I went in I was thinking up of the most difficult questions they could possibly ask me and planning how I could answer them, this helped me a lot.
I was asked about my understanding of the RAF initial training, where it takes place, how long it lasts , what the three stages of recruit training consist off etc. He also touched on my understanding of the UN and the RAF’s role in places of conflict, I would advise buying the odd paper and tuning in sky news every now and then just to build up on current affairs, I got the Daily Mail and the Mail on Sunday and read all Force related reports.
After the first ten minutes the atmosphere becomes more relaxed. I am not sure if the above helps anyone but like I said before I know that the key to getting through all this is being clued up and I don’t mind helping out those who are a stage or two behind me. Fingers crossed I keep progressing up the process.
Thanks for helping me out, expect more questions and updates haha
