Doin The Job

Post by neil1955 »

Having read everything i can get my hands on about 3 Paras exploits in Afganistan I am proud to say that I am humbled by the performance of these brave young lads.
It is easy for us old farts sitting at home in safty with a couple of cans of Stella to be critical how easy to slag off the youth of today, lets not forget when I joined up few of them were even born...To all those fine young men serving in that particular shithole well done you are upholding the fighting traditions of the Parachute regiment magnificently.
For all those who think it was harder in their day think again these lads are doing the business in style :o
The Brecon Becons still stand Pen-y Fan is still a pain it makes no differance jnr, snr, selection, it stays with you ............

Get your attitude straight mate - you ARE worthy of joining them - you just gotta prove it to the bods at Catterick.

I think we can all agree with your expressed sentiments Neil, there is absolutely no denying the sheer professionalism, dedication and toughness of these fine men in what is an un-doubtedley extreme area of operations. Talk about inspiration!... this is what it means to be a Paratrooper. 8)

Paul, your's and my day will come mate and by christ will I give it everything I've got!
