PJFT Passed

Post by sammy571819 »

Well i passed it today, got a very dissapointing 10:15. Been getting around 9:30 in the gym for the past couple of weeks but it felt a lot harder today, dont know whether it was nerves or that the gym was so hot. Anyway its out the way now, hoping to do my prmc in about 3 months so im gonna be a hell of a lot fitter by then.

Alright mate dont worry to much about the PJFT the guy at the afco say some lads run it in 8-9 mins and fail prmc even though some lads run it in 10 and pass prmc. Just keep training

Congrats on passing, I have to do one, but I'm trying not to  Im doing it through RMR Henley and as long as I make it to holding troop, which starts in about a months time, I should avoid the medical, interview and PJFA.

Iv done lots interviews for the marines but they still say I need to do one for RMR (Bristol AFCO). Lack of communication by all parts if you ask me, why cant they just ask Bristol OCLC, which is just down the road, that I'm not a complete plank and have passed the interivew for officer?). Iv also had an interivew at RMR Tyne and Henley! As for medical I did one in Feb, and holding troop should be enough to assess my fitness.

I have been thinking about this and... Say a lad does it in 8 mins and I do it in 10.30mins and we are both putting in 100% max effort, surely i've done 'better' because i have kept up my max speed for 2.30 mins longer. He got a quicker time but maybe he is a naturally faster runner than me but got to stop sooner.

Just a thought, dont mean to ruffle any feathers.

I was always under the impression that they look back on PJFT times on PRMC if it was kind of a "one recruit or the other" typed desicion?

everyone has different running styles, leg sizes, and other anomolies some are able to go faster than others, while others can go longer.. you cant really judge someone on a treadmill run, especially when you filter in nerves and such.

I thought that everyone who passes the tests and is suitable for commando training gets their boots? So if everyone on the PRMC passed then everyone would get a date for RT?

Hi, i've been lerking around the forums for a while now and i'd just like to say cheers for all the good info, and i know this aint the place to introduce myself but i got a qustion to go with it, i was reading all the PJFT topics but i couldent find somthing out, i was told when i was in Chatam after my medical that i had to do the 1.3 mile treadmill test in 9.30 or less, im 17 years old so that would figure but in this topic one person did theres in 10 minutes, so does the time limit go on age or is it just to see how fast you can get and they will pass you if your time isent to bad, and if there is a topic about this sorry i must be blind :>
any info would be good, cheers

Its 1.5 miles mate. The time limit is 10.45 but its expected that you run it in under 10. I did it in 10.30 and was told i'd need to get fitter but it was still considered a pass.
