Hi i am a member of astra-sport and i spotted something interesting if you look at Mattr32 he claims that he did selection to be a Marines Officer, passed, was offered but opted for civvy life.could you ask him some questions as i think he is bullshitting. oh yeah registration is free by the way and you don't have to own an astra to be part of the site. Cheers in advance. http://www.m1gst.com/vb/showthread.php? ... ge=1&pp=10

If he wants to lie, let him lie, he's only kidding himself if he is. :)

Cant see how that means hes lying. Ive met several people who have passed POCs/PRMCs and have declined an offer to start training or to attend AIB.

Well here I am - Thanks Andrew for spotting this.
Why on EARTH would I BS about this?
I trained damn hard aged 22 (now 30) whilst also doing OTC at Uni.
I passed and fairly comfortably.
This guy is a night security man HOPING to be in the RAUXAF!!

I'm a director of quite a decent company now and have no military connections but was very into it some years ago.
I still train pretty much daily, teach kickboxing, surf a lot and have no pretensions whatsoever of being a military man.
I was very into the Marines, I passed the POC and AIB, met my now wife of six years and was offered a well paid civvy job so I took it.
I have huge respect for anyone who has served or is serving in the Marines as I have some taster for what it might be like but that's all.
Please ignore this loon in the future.

I'm with nocturnal. Does "doing selection" to be a bootneck officer mean that you just passed the POC and AIB. I thought the selection process was over a year-odd at CTC. I think the comment is misleading - are you going to rest on your laurels that you turned the Corps down - are you aware that not all people who pass POC pass out - even if they passed "comfortably"? You must be pretty fit and tough to pass the POC. You're my hero. Think I'll be ignoring you.

Whats wrong with Rauxaf i can't join the police like i wanted due to the eyesight requirements. But i do apologise for being a bit cap handed. in my defence though i have met a lot of bullshitters who claim to be ex para etc and the fact that you went through all the training which is bloody hard and then decided you didn't want to do it in the end was understandably quite unbeliveable from the outside perspective. but anyway sorry for being a twat.
